Data policy

What Seebly collects from the visitors of sites that use it, and what it never collects. Last updated 31 October 2026.

What we record for each visit

What we never record

How we count unique visitors without cookies

Each visit gets a one-way hash made from the IP address, browser user agent, the site, and a random salt. The salt is replaced every day and the old one is deleted, so yesterday's hashes can never be recreated. The result: we can tell that the same visitor viewed three pages today, but not who they are, and not that they came back tomorrow.

Bots

Declared bots, automated browsers and link previews are dropped and never stored. Visits that look automated by pattern are kept separately from real-visitor numbers, so the site owner can review them and restore any day that was filtered by mistake.

AI crawlers and search engines

If the site owner turns on the optional server ping, we record which crawler read which page and when (for example "ChatGPT read /pricing"). That's about software, not people: no visitor data is involved.

How long we keep it

Raw visit records are kept for 13 months, then deleted. Daily totals are kept for as long as the site owner keeps the site in Seebly. Deleting a site, or closing an account, deletes its data.

Where it's processed

On Cloudflare's network, which runs close to your visitors worldwide, with data stored in Cloudflare's database service. See sub-processors.

Who owns it

The site owner owns their analytics data. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers or use it to build profiles. Owners can export or delete it any time.

GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and PECR

Because Seebly stores no personal data and sets nothing on visitors' devices, most sites can use it without a cookie banner. Every site's situation is its own, so check your own legal requirements. A data processing agreement is available on request: hello@seebly.io.
